ProtAct-Us Showcases Research at EU-Safety 2025
The ProtAct-Us project was proudly represented at EU-Safety 2025, one of Europe’s leading road safety conferences, where our team presented key research on the long-term consequences of road traffic crashes. The event occur on October 1-2, in Heraklion, Greece.
During the conference, a series of oral presentations highlighted the project’s focus on understanding, assessing, and mitigating injuries with long-term consequences across different road users:
- Long-term Consequences Resulting from Road Traffic Crashes: A Literature Review by our partner Manuela Anelli from Università di Pavia
- Accident characteristics that result in long-term consequences of road users by our partner Heiko Johannsen from MHH
- Long-Term Impact of Road Traffic Crashes in Europe: A Study Protocol by our partner Ottavia Eleonora Ferraro from Università di Pavia
- Assessment and mitigation of injuries with long-term consequences for occupants of buses by our partner Christoph Klein from VIF
- Long-Term Head Injury Consequences and Protection for Cyclists and e-scooter Riders by our partner Hadi Ghiabakloo from Lazer
Participation in EU-Safety 2025 provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge with fellow researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders, fostering valuable collaborations and discussions. The event reinforced the importance of addressing not only immediate road traffic injuries but also their long-term consequences, ensuring safer mobility for all.
The ProtAct-Us team looks forward to continuing these collaborations and advancing research that informs evidence-based road safety policies and interventions across Europe.
