New Article Published on Preventing Injuries with Long-term Consequences in Vehicle Crashes

A new scientific article addressing the prevention of injuries with long-term consequences in vehicle crashes has been published as part of the EU-funded project ProtAct-Us.

The article, titled “Prevention of Injuries with Long-term Consequences in Vehicle Crashes”, was published on January 2026 in ATZ worldwide (Issue 1/2026). It explores how long-term injury risks resulting from road crashes can be more effectively assessed and integrated into vehicle safety development processes.

Authored by Johannes Prinz, Julian Becker, Maximilian Praster, and Werner Leitgeb, the publication investigates an approach to assess and ultimately reduce the risk for long-term consequences of crash victims with bone fractures. The work contributes to ongoing efforts within ProtAct-Us to improve injury risk assessment methodologies and support the reduction of Long Term Consequences from road crashes.

This publication represents an important step in advancing scientific knowledge on long-term injury prevention and aligns closely with the objectives of the ProtAct-Us project.

The full article is available in ATZ worldwide.
