ProtAct-Us Contributes to New joint paper of EU Road Safety Cluster

The EU Road Safety Cluster has published an important joint paper entitled “Advancing Road Safety Through Data: Challenges, Solutions, and Policy Insights from EU Road Safety Projects.” This collaborative publication brings together expertise from twelve EU‑funded research and innovation projects — including ProtactUS — to address a shared and pressing challenge: how to transform fragmented, diverse road safety data into integrated, predictive, and policy‑ready insights.

The publication includes contributions from all cluster projects and presents examples of best practices, methods, and tools being developed to harness data for improved decision‑making. It concludes with key policy recommendations aimed at fostering data standardisation, enhancing access and interoperability, and strengthening collaboration between stakeholders across Europe.

ProtactUS is proudly represented in the paper alongside partners from projects such as PHOEBE, CAMBER, AI4CCAM, SOTERIA, FRODDO, V4SAFETY, EvoRoads, SAFETeen, and others. Werner Leitgeb and Joana Lúcio are listed among the paper’s co‑authors, underscoring ProtactUS’s active role in shaping the data‑centric future of road safety research and policy development.

This publication is part of a broader collaborative effort within the EU Road Safety Cluster to improve evidence‑based policymaking, accelerate innovation in road safety, and support the European Union’s strategic goals — including the long‑term Vision Zero ambition of eliminating road deaths and serious injuries.
