ProtAct-Us General Assembly Convenes in Pavia

The ProtAct-Us consortium gathered in Pavia, Italy, for its General Assembly and project meeting, hosted by the University of Pavia (UNIPV) on June 9–10, 2026. Held at the historic Palazzo San Tommaso, the two-day meeting combined project progress reviews, technical workshops, and collaborative sessions, reinforcing the consortium’s interdisciplinary approach to addressing personal injuries with long-term consequences in road traffic.

Day 1 – Tuesday, June 9, 2026 | University of Pavia, Italy

The first day opened with a welcome address by Professor Alessandro Reali, Rector of the University of Pavia, setting a warm and collegial tone for the meeting. Partners then convened for the General Assembly session, reviewing the current project status and reporting requirements. The morning continued with dedicated workshops on WP2 Medical and Epidemiological Methods and WP4 Integration of Countermeasures and Effectiveness, promoting cross-disciplinary exchange among partners.

In the afternoon, Professor Antonio Rovelli led a historical tour of the University’s premises and courtyards — a fitting setting given UNIPV’s centuries-long academic legacy. Technical discussions then resumed with presentations on WP3 Engineering Tools and Methods, followed by the T3.2 Workshop led by CIDAUT. The day closed with a guided visit to Pavia’s historic centre, including Piazza Vittoria, Piazza Duomo, and the Church of San Teodoro, home to a remarkable large fresco depicting the city of Pavia.

Day 2 – Wednesday, June 10, 2026 | University of Pavia, Italy

The second day opened with focused technical workshops, including T4.3 led by MHH and T4.4 led by HMU, deepening the consortium’s work on injury assessment and intervention frameworks. The morning then turned to WP5 Dissemination, Communication and Standardisation, presented by INOVA, covering the project’s outreach strategy, upcoming conference targets, and publication pipeline.

A joint workshop on Risk, Exploitation, and Gender Topics — led by INOVA and LAZER — fostered strategic reflection on the project’s key exploitable results and its commitment to gender-sensitive research. The meeting concluded with an open discussion and wrap-up session, where partners aligned on next steps and priorities for the final phase of the project.

Strengthening Collaboration and Looking Ahead

Across the two days, the ProtAct-Us consortium engaged in constructive knowledge exchange within one of Italy’s most storied academic institutions. Partners left Pavia with renewed focus and a shared roadmap for the project’s final stretch, as the consortium moves toward its concluding milestones and the ProtAct-Us Final Event planned for 2027.
