Role in the project
Lazer contributes to ProtAct-Us in both engineering and standardisation aspects.
In engineering, Lazer focuses on minimizing head injuries and related long-term consequences in cyclists. To achieve this goal, Lazer will develop countermeasures to reduce the risk of head/brain injuries and the associated long-term consequences during and after crashes. Additionally, to evaluate the effectiveness of these countermeasures, Lazer will develop and implement physical and numerical testing procedures according to the most recent safety standards.
In the standardisation part, Lazer leads task 5.4 on “Standardisation and Harmonisation Methods to Reduce Long-Term Outcomes,” which aims to develop a comprehensive framework for standardising methodologies and harmonising regulations and requirements to reduce the long-term outcomes of personal injuries in road traffic.
